Ait Bougmez trek in 3 days:

An ideal short itinerary to hike and discover the beautiful sites in the middle Atlas including Ouzoud waterfalls, fortified granaries, magnificent villages, amazing landscapes and dinosaur’s traces. You will be accompanied by a mountain guide, Marrakech is the start and the end point of this trek.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouzoud waterfalls – Agouti

After breakfast, departure in front of your hotel towards Azilal, particularly Ouzoud, The most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco. Waterfalls (ouzoud in Berber means "olive", refers to the cultivation of olives in this area), rushed from a height of 110 meters into the river. During the ride to the river, there are numerous tiendecillas of souvenirs and in the end, some boats transporting you to the other side (there is also a small bridge to cross on foot). This place is very quiet and relaxing and is the destination (in summer) of many Moroccans who are looking for a little cool. Late afternoon, you will arrive to Agouti where you spend two nights in a gite.

Day 2: Arrous Valley

After breakfast, you will hike with your guide through the canyons to achieve the pasturing fields of Ikkis, impressive panoramic view of Mgoun mountains, you will discover the ‘ Tighermatine) Fortified traditional Berber inhabitations made from mud-brick. In the afternoon you will return back to the gite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Agouti - Ait Bougmez valley – Marrakech

Today, your guide will take you to explore a collective granary called Sidi Moussa; A granary is fortified building by mud divided to small rooms where locals store cereals, it is also called Agadir in Berber language. Sidi Moussa is also a holy place. You will also discover the dinosaur’s traces before you reach Tabant and head back to Marrakech.
