High Atlas and Draa discovery Tour 5 days / 4 nights:

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait benhaddou – Fint – Ouarzazate

Departure in front of your chosen hotel, crossing the high Atlas pass Tizi N’Ticka 2260m to reach the classified UNESCO site named Ait Ben Haddou village where many tournament were taken place like «Laurence of Arabia » and « The Man who would be a king ». We will be taken for a guided visit of 1 hour by foot to climb to the top of this natural décor (from time to time there is a flood we will use donkeys provided by the locals to cross the river with an amount of 10 dh/person). We will have lunch in traditional Moroccan restaurant with a panoramic view on the ksar. In the afternoon, we will continue to Fint oasis including a short visit of Tifoultout Kasbah and the palm grove of Ouarzazate. Fint is hidden oasis in the anti Atlas combining four villages with 1200 inhabitants; you will take a walk of 30 minutes to reach the village chief’s house who is going to welcome us with tea, a memorable moments in discovering life style of the locals. Arriving to Ouarzazate, check in to our 4* hotel or riad.

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Draa valley - Zagora

After breakfast, we will leave Ourazazate in the direction of Agdez via Tizi N’Tinifift 1710 m and Ait saoun village. We will continue through a deserted track in the middle of the romantic Draa valley fields surrounded by palm orchard, different types of dates and dances, a lot of villages, Kasbahs and ksour and a mixture of minorities. The main activity that locals practice is agriculture; they still follow the same irrigation system they have inherited from their ancestors and also follow the same seasons for cultivating cereals. Draa is the longest valley in Morocco; it extends for 1200 km until it sinks in the desert in the south of Tantan. Once we arrive to Zagora, we will check into your hotel and have shower if you like before we head to Tinfou dunes, visit the old Coranic library with its religious books collection and assist to the locals preparing potteries. Return back to Riad Salam hotel in Zagora, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Zagora - Tazarine - Alnif - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will drive to Tazarine via Beni Zoli and Touna N’Iarabn on Reg (stony desert) track through a landscape of huge mountains, palm oasis and isolated Berber villages of Ait Atta. We will assist to the rock engravings in Ait Ouaazik at the suburbs of Tazarine, we will continue to Alnif village; a famous area for Trilobites where we will have lunch in a beautiful restaurant. In the afternoon, we head to Rissani, the first imperial city of Morocco known by Tafilalt oasis or Sijilmassa in the ancient time where our king’s origins came from, we will explore the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, don’t miss to take a photo of the ancient gate dating from the 17th century at the entrance of the city. After that, we will face the Erg (successive dunes) Chibbi until we reach the foot of the dunes, a break of 15 minutes with a welcoming tea before we ride camels for 1h30 at the moment of the sunset in the middle of nowhere until we reach the oasis where our camp is located, enjoy a typical dinner under the shooting stars and spend a night in the nomadic tents.

Day 4: Merzouga - Erfoud - Todra gorges - Dades gorges

An early wake up to assist to the sunrise on the dunes followed by typical breakfast, then ride back our camels to the hostel to meet our driver, have shower and leave to Dades gorges via Erfoud, the city of fossils. Next, we drive to the impressive Todra gorges for lunch in a local restaurant located between canyons of 300 m high, we might take a walk of 40 minutes to discover this beautiful valley. In the afternoon, we will visit the jewish quarter in Tinghir before we reach Dades gorges via its colorful valley, we will spend the night in the typical Kasbah la vallée hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Rose valley - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will start with the deserted track of Ait Youl, a preferred start point for hikers who climb to Mgoun summit, we will discover the rose valley and Boutaghrar with its panoramic views from the red mountains on the green valley until we reach Kelaa Mgouna, then Skoura palm grove, lunch in Ouarzazate near the Taourirt Kasbah Ouarzazate, optional visit of cinema studios before we arrive to Marrakech around 5p.m.
