The camp is situated at 60 kilometers from M’hamid village, in the foot of
Chegaga dunes. 2 hours with 4WD only is sufficient to attend the bivouac while hikers or camels caravans takes three days.
The
bivouac of Erg Chegaga features 20 spacious,
nomadic tents with a capacity of 2 to 4 peaple with a maximum confort, all are equipped with, beds, mattresses, blankets and sheets, the floor is also covered with thick carpets too. The tents are handicraft made by the nomads with goats and camels hair.
The
bivouac offers also 4 shared toilets and 4 showers with hot water thanks to an installed solar panel which ensure not only a high voltage (220V) for recharging batteries and notebooks but also keep the camp very quite. Instead of lamps, inside the tents, guests will use candles for lighting for more romance.
